Gorillaz have released a new track with a contribution from Robert Smith himself! My initial impressions of Strange Timez weren’t great, but I’m appreciating it more with subsequent listens. It’s a bit weird and the intro really leads into the chorus well. So, if Gorillaz are your thing, check it out.

Mastodons!
Members of Mastodon have been quite busy. They are involved in 2 super groups, teaming up with members of Queens of the Stone Age, At the Drive-In, Soulfly, and Dillinger Escape Plan. Both groups put out new singles recently.

The Smashing Pumpkins are back… again
Their last album Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. was actually very good, despite the pretentious name (a Billy Corgan speciality). The Pumpkins have released 2 new tracks previewing an upcoming double-album (again, shocking). They’re a bit of a departure from standard Pumpkins fare, so check out “Cyr” and “The Colour of Love” right here:

It’s Andy Bell!
Andy Bell of Ride and Oasis fame is releasing a solo album in October. The first single, “Love Comes in Waves” brings us some psychedelic fuzz and effects-laden guitar. Good mood incoming, trust me I’m a professional.
