So I kind of lost track of the Deftones after White Pony, however I was recently introduced to this track, “Minerva”. I think it’s brilliant songwriting. Check it out nerds.

Don’t be a Mr. Bungle
Mr. Bungle just released a new video for the song “Eracist” off the re-recording of their demo The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny. Fun fact, Scott Ian of Anthrax fame joined the band for the re-recording!
Hellish Quart?
Apparently this is a Bushido Blade like sword fighting game, in which case I’m in. Bushido Blade was great.
Andy Bell has done it again
The man just keeps releasing solid tracks from his upcoming album The View From Halfway Down. “I Was Alone” really hits on the dreamy, haunting, and ethereal notes. Yes, those are very cliche music review terms, and I don’t care.
The Mandalorian returns
I mean, I could type a bunch of stuff. But hey the show is great, and the trailer has me excited. Enjoy.
Theme song for the Pitching Ninja
While not the strongest of Pitching Ninja videos (there’s no home cooking), this entry features the new theme song! Also, Bob Ross and the Zack Greinke moment of zen.
Beastie Boys go hardcore
Somehow I was unaware the Beastie Boys released a hardcore EP in the 90s. Aglio E Olio is an 8 track EP clocking in at around 10 minutes. I love it, who needs a 10 minute prog rock epic when you can have 8 whole tracks in that time!? Anyway, I’m looking forward to checking this out. Streaming links and more details here:

Stone Gossard (of Pearl Jam) is doing stuff
Gossard’s side project, Painted Shield, just released a single and it sounds nothing like Pearl Jam. Instead, we’re treated to something with more electronic flare and a lot less classic rock. I was pleasantly surprised by “I Am Your Country”, and highly recommend hanging around until at least 1:40 into the track where shit gets real. Here’s the article with more details, followed by the track.

The Spice
I’m not much of a movie goer, largely ignoring important details like directors, release dates, actors, and the industry in general. However, Dune is sweet and the trailer released today for the upcoming movie also looks sweet. Not to mention Batista and Aquaman both appear in the film!
Gorillaz and that dude from the Cure
Gorillaz have released a new track with a contribution from Robert Smith himself! My initial impressions of Strange Timez weren’t great, but I’m appreciating it more with subsequent listens. It’s a bit weird and the intro really leads into the chorus well. So, if Gorillaz are your thing, check it out.
